Macon Messenger, 29 May 1861

Died at the residence of her son, Mr. Mark A. George, Chattahoochee County, Mrs. Mary George, aged 85 years. Born in Rockingham County, North Carolina, and was the sister of that noble band of brothers, "the Hardens" whose prosperity is now numerous and occupying worthy and distinguished positions in society; for many years a consistent member of the Methodist Church.
