Calvin G. Woodcock was born in about 1798, in Saratoga County, New York (27). His parents have not been identified. In about 1819, Calvin Woodcock married Sarah A. Gould in New York, and by 1820, Calvin and Sarah Woodcock were living in the Town of White Creek in Washington County, New York. The 7 Aug 1820 federal census of the Town of White Creek in Washington County, New York enumerates the Calvin Woodcock household with Calvin Woodcock, age 16–25 years; a female, age 16–25 years, presumably Sarah (Gould) Woodcock; and a female older than 45 years (18).

Between 1820 and 1830, three children were born to Sarah and Calvin Woodcock: Ebenezar G. Woodcock in about 1821, Mary Ann Woodcock in about 1824, and Chloe Woodcock in about 1826. Before 1830, the Calvin Woodcock family migrated east from Washington County, New York to Oneida County, New York.

The 1830 U.S. Federal Census of the Florence Township of Oneida County, New York enumerates the household of Calvin Woodcock, age 30–39 years, and a female, age 20–29 years, presumably Sarah (Gould) Woodcock (20). Also living in the household were a male age 5–9 years, a female age 5–9 years; and two females less than 5 years of age. Presumably, two of the older children were Ebenezar G. and Mary Ann Woodcock, and one of the younger female children was Chloe Woodcock. The other female less than five years of age has not been identified and perhaps died young.

Three additional children were born to Sarah and Calvin Woodcock before 1840: Hiram G. Woodcock on 31 Oct 1832, Sarah Woodcock on 3 Jul 1839, and Calvin Woodcock, Jr. in about 1839.

The Calvin Woodcock household is found in the 1840, 1850, and 1860 federal censuses of Florence in Oneida County, New York.

The 22 Aug 1850 Federal Census of Oneida County enumerates the household of Calvin Woodcock age 52, born in New York, and a farmer (17). Also living in the household were Calvin’s wife Sarah Woodcock, age 49 and children Mary Ann Woodcock, age 26; Hiram, age 17; Calvin, age 11 years.

The 23 Jun 1865 New York State census of the Town of Florence in Oneida County, New York enumerates the household of C. (Calvin) Woodcock, 64 years old and born in Saratoga County, New York (90). Sarah (Gould) Woodcock was enumerated as S. Woodcock, 64 years old and born in Washington County, New York. Calvin Woodcock, Jr. was enumerated as C. Woodcock, 38 years old and born in Oneida County, New York.

Before 16 Jun 1870, the Calvin Woodcock family migrated from the Town of Florence to Camden in Oneida County, New York. The 16 Jun 1870 federal census of the Town of Camden in Oneida County, New York enumerates the household of Calvin Woodcock, 70 years old and born in New York (23). Calvin Woodcock was retired as a farmer. His wife, Sarah (Gould) Woodcock was 69 years old and born in New York. Also living in the household were Chloe Woodcock, 44 years old and born in New York, and Brulah Woodcock, 72 years old also born in New York. Calvin Woodcock held real estate valued at $1,000 and a personal estate of about $400.

On 6 Mar 1875, Calvin Woodcock made a will in the Town of Camden, Oneida County, New York (89). He named his wife, Sarah (Gould) Woodcock to receive all of his estate and appointed his son Ebenezar G. Woodcock executor. 

The 24 Jun 1875 New York State census of the Town of Camden in Oneida County, New York enumerates the household of 75 year old Calvin Woodcock, born in Saratoga County, New York (27). Calvin’s wife, Sarah (Gould) Woodcock was 74 years old and born in Washington County, New York. Also living in the household was Chloe Woodcock, 49 years old and born in Oneida County, New York. 

Similarly, the 7 Jun 1880 federal census of the Town of Camden in Oneida County, New York enumerates the household of Calvin Woodcock, 80 years old and born in New York, with his wife Sarah (Gould) Woodcock, 79 years old and born in New York (24). Sarah Woodcock was working as a weaver. The parents of both Calvin and Sarah Woodcock were born in New York. Also living in the household was Chloe Woodcock, 54 years old and born in New York. Chloe Woodcock also worked as a weaver.

Calvin G. Woodcock died on 4 Apr 1883 at 83 years of age. He is buried in the Woodcock Family Plot in Grilley Cemetery at Florence in Oneida County, New York (25). The Will of Calvin G. Woodcock was proved on 7 Jun 1883 at the Town of Rome in Oneida County, New York (88).
