Magee before me the undersigned, who makes the following declaration as an application for pension under the provisions of the act of Congress approved May 1, 1920. That she is 77 years of age, that she was born February 2nd, 1846 That she is the widow of James Magee, who ENLISTED Aug 26, 1861, at London Kentucky, under the name of James Magee, in Company K. Regiment 7th Ky Inf and was honorably DISCHARGED Sept 26, 1864, having served ninety days or more, or was discharged for, or died in service of the United States of a disability incurred in the service in the line of duty, during the CIVIL WAR, and who DIED Aug 13, 1923, at Wichita Falls Texas. THAT SHE WAS MARRIED to said soldier October 1865, at Tasville Ten., by Justice of Peace, that she had not been previously married, that he had not been previously married. That she has not heretofore applied for pension, the number of her former claim being x; that said soldier, a pensioner the number of his pension certificate being 557705. Magee, Electra Texas Subscribed and sworn to before me this 5th day of September, 1923 Signature: Bill Williams Notary Public Wichita Texas Doc# James Magee (1841-1923) 6E ACT OF FEBRUARY 6, 1907D DECLARATION FOR PENSION State of Texas County of Wichita On this 17 day of July 1911 personally appeared before me, a Notary Public within and for the county and State aforesaid, James Magee, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he 70 years of age, and a resident of Iowa Park county of Wichita, State of Texas; and that he is the identical person who was ENROLLED at Camp Dick Robinson, under the name of Jame Magee, on the 25th day of August, 1861 as a Private, in Co K 7th Reg Vol Inf of Kentucky in the service of the United States, in the Civil war, and was honorably discharged at Camp Doulas, Chicago, on the 25th day of September, 1864. That he was not employed in the military or naval service of the United States otherwise than as stated above. That his personal description at enlistment was as follows; Height, 5 feet 7 inches; complexion, dark; color of eyes, bule; color of hair, dark; that his occupation was farmer; that he was born 20th day of April, 1841 at Laurel Co. Kentucky. That his several places of residence since leaving the service have been as follows: Texas & Kentucky. That he is now a pensioner. That his post-office address is, Iowa Park, county of Wichita, State of Texas. K Ky Cav Sir: It is alleged that James Magee enlisted Sept 25, 1861 and served as a Private in Co. K, 7th Reg't Ky Cav Capt. T.T. Garrad and was discharged at Chicago ILL. Sept 25, 1864. It is also alleged that while on duty at Camp Wild Cat Ky on or about Oct. 1st, 1861, he was disabled by measels, resulting in disease of lungs and general debility. Signed Greer B. Rains.
