On 2 Feb 1745, Joseph Strickland and wife, Frances Strickland, of Edgecombe County, North Carolina made a deed to Jesse Browne of Isle of Wight County, Virginia to transfer 240 acres of land (580). The deed was recorded on 24 Feb 1745. Thomas Crenshaw, Joseph West, and Nathan Vasser witnessed the deed.

On 7 Nov 1745, James Johnson, Jr. made a deed to Ratcliff Boon, Jr. to transfer 190 acres on the east side of the main Blackwater Swamp adjoining the poplar Branch, Corawak, John Pope and the Horse Swamp. The land was part of a patent granted to Mathew Strickland for 1,803 acfres in 1680. John Eley, William Watkins, Jr., and Jesse Browne witnessed the deed. The deed was recorded on 13 Nov 1746.
