The 1880 U.S. Federal Census of Empire, Ellsworth County, Kansas enumerates David Livingston as born in Ohio; however, the birthplace of the father of his children is listed as Pennsylvania.

At the 1880 U.S. Federal Census of Empire, Ellsworth County, Kansas, the David Livingston is living on property adjacent to the Michael and Agnes Griffith household. Agnes Griffith was the daughter of David Livingston, Agnes L. Livingston.
