On 28 May 1846, Moses Johnson made a Will in Talbot County, Georgia naming his brother-in-law, Benjamin T. Emanuel, and sister, Amazon J. Emanuel. The Will named Benjamin T. Emanuel as executor. Will of Moses W. Johnson
Georgia Talbot County, May 28, 1846

I Moses W Johnson of the county and State above stated do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me heretofore.

First. I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible out of the first moneys that shall come into the hands from any portion of my estate real or personal.

Second, I give and bequeath unto my brother in law Benjamin T Emanuel and my Sister Amazon J Emanuel all my Estate real and personal after my decease for their use and benifit, consisting of the following negroes, Gummer, Phoebe, Patty, Anica, Judy, Columbus, Washington, Green, Sam, Joshua, Andrew, Jerry, Poter, Emaline, Anibel, and Greir, and also all my horses, all my cattle, and all my hogs, also my three waggons and one ox cart, also my present growing crop consisting of corn, cotton, oats wheat, and fodder, also the following lots of Land (viz) Lot no ninety three no sixty seven, no one hundred and one hundred and fifty two and a half acres of no 68 and twelve acres of no 36 all lying and being in the 17th District of Talbot county.

And I do hereby make and ordain my esteemed friend Benjamin T. Emanuel Executor of this my Last will and Testament. In witness whereof I Moses W. Johnson have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written.
